With an aim to disrupt home cleaning solution segment, Bissell, a leader in cleaning solutions and floor care, announced its foray in Indian market by launching a range of world class vacuum cleaners. Priced between INR 1,590 to 30,000, the range includes Bissell Aero Vac 2-In-1 Bagless Stick Vacuum Cleaner, Hydro Clean, Easy vac, Vac and Steam. Bissell is exclusively distributed in India by Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures and the range is available on various leading e-commerce platforms including Amazon, Flipkart, and Snapdeal.

Bissel is an American Brand and a global leader in home cleaning and floor care segment having approximately 11.5 % of global market share. With these impressive growth statistics and a rich legacy of 140 years, Bissel will make a valuable addition to the booming vacuum cleaners market in India.

Bissell will also eye the ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ drive after ramping up its sales in the next two years. The company hopes to invest in technology based factories. It also plans to shift the global manufacturing of its products to India, where it will play a small role in the development on India.

On account of rising female working population, booming real estate sector and entry of foreign players into India, the market has seen a steady growth. This boost has majorly been driven by rise in demand for handheld vacuum cleaners, canister and dry vacuum cleaner models in the residential vacuum cleaner market in India. The market will grow at a considerable CAGR rate thus reaching INR 6.6 billion by 2020 due to the booming tourism and hospitality industry in India.

Seeking this opportunity, Trade Bazaar has launched Bissel, a leader in the floor care segment across the globe, in the Indian market. With a strong vision set in place, Bissel intends “to make convenient the lives of Indian consumers with world class technology at affordable prices in the home cleaning segment”. Being a pioneer in this field, right from the invention of the sweeper in 1867 to the current Vacuum and Steam cleaning appliance, Bissel has been making one of its kind products with Class A technology that sets it apart from its competitors.

Manav Tandon, Managing Partner, Trade Bazaar Hometech Ventures sharing his thoughts, “ With the rise in the number of nuclear families and changes in lifestyles and more women with families continuing to pursue a career, there is an overall increase in the demand for home cleaning appliances. With no major innovation or new product development in the floor care segment in India we feel that Bissell being world No.1 with its world class technology and innovative products that are ideal for the Indian consumer, will make a mark in the vacuum and home cleaning category in India.”

Yusuf Hakim, Head Asia-Pacific, Bissell International LLC. says, “We are very excited with test launch done in the last 5 months on amazon.in. The Indian market presents a huge opportunity for Bissell as a company and is a key focus in our international business. In the next three years we look at being the No.2 brand in India in the vacuum and cleaning appliance segment by developing new products for the Indian market that make cleaning, easy and convenient.”
