NEW DELHI (INDIA): The Mayor of Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark, Jacob Bundsgaard met the Union Minister for Urban Development Venkaiah Naidu in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Naidu and Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard discussed about mutual cooperation in the development of Udaipur and Aarhus cities.

The Minister said that Udaipur is a famous and beautiful city and there are lots of opportunities available to cooperate.

Naidu commended Aarhus for its expertise in water harvesting technology and said that the draft MoU on ‘Cooperation on Urban Water Management’ to be signed by Aarhus Water and Udaipur Smart City Ltd,has been forwarded to the Ministry of External Affairs for approval. The Minister stressed upon the need to identify one nodal official from the both the cities who can attend to all the details of implementation of MOU by constantly interacting with each other.

Prior to meeting with the Minister,Bundsgaard had visited Udaipur city and said that he is impressed with the old heritage of the city and hopes for a successful cooperation between Udaipur and Aarhus.

He further said that the exchange of knowledge and technology between the two cities can be extended to other cities too.

Bundsgaard invited Naidu to visit Aarhus city, along with a delegation from Udaipur. Mr. Jacob Bundsgaard the Mayor of Aarhus was accompanied by Niels Hojberg, City Manager and CEO of the City of Aarhus and Peter Taksoe-Jensen, Ambassador of Denmark to India.
