NEW DELHI: Larsen & Toubro (L&T) said its construction arm has bagged orders worth  Rs 2106 crore across various business segments in the domestic market.

Water and Effluent Treatment Business:

The business has secured orders worth Rs 1954 Crore.

A Design & Build order has been received from the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (AP CRDA) for investigation, design & construction of roads, bridges, storm water drains, water supply, sewerage, utility ducts for power & ICT, reuse waterline, avenue plantation and artificial water body compatible with trunk Infrastructure in layouts for Amaravati government complex in Amaravati Capital City, Andhra Pradesh.

This order will be jointly executed by Water Effluent Treatment Business and Transportation Infrastructure Business of L&T Construction.

The business has also secured a turnkey order from the Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company Limited (JUIDCO) for the execution of drinking water supply projects in the Hazaribagh and Ranchi districts of Jharkhand.

The aggregate scope includes design, engineering, supply and erection of raw water and clear water transmission & distribution pipelines; construction of intake structures; water treatment plants and water retaining structures including house service connections.

The projects involve automation including measurement of input & output water quantity and quality through suitable SCADA & other instrumentation works thus aiming to limit the water losses in the system at desired levels.

L&T GeoStructure:

The business has secured orders worth Rs 152 Crore.

L&T GeoStructure business has secured an order from BHEL for the execution of pile caps, pedestals, piers, deep foundation-supported bridges and gallery, for a Coal Handling and Ash Handling Plant of the 2×660 MW STTP at Ennore, Chennai. The project is to be executed in stringent timelines of 20 months.

Going ahead, the construction arm of L&T has also won orders worth Rs 1,127 Crore across two business segments.

Metallurgical and Material Handling Business:

The business has secured orders worth Rs 755 crore.

An order has been secured from Hindustan Zinc Ltd for the construction of an 1.5 MTPA Lead- Zinc Beneficiation Plant at R D Mines, Rajasthan, thereby continuing to build customer confidence and leadership position in this segment.

The business has also secured various add-on jobs from existing customers in both domestic market and well as in the Middle-East region across various product segments.

Buildings and Factories Business:

The business has secured an order worth Rs 372 crore.

The Factories business unit of the Buildings and Factories vertical has secured a prestigious order for the brownfield expansion of Viscose Staple Fibre manufacturing facility from Grasim Industries (Cellulosic division) at Vilayat, Bharuch, Gujarat. The scope includes civil, structural, architectural and external development works. The business has earlier executed a green-field project at the same location for Grasim industries.

Beside these, L&T has won orders worth Rs 1329 Crore across three business segments.

Water & Effluent Treatment Business:

The Business has won an order worth Rs 710 Crore.

A prestigious Design and Build (D&B) order has been secured from Public Works Authority (ASHGHAL), Qatar for the execution of 30 MLD Industrial Area Sewage Treatment Works Phase III A.

The scope covers Design, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Testing and Commissioning with advanced treatment technology and high-end control & automation. This is the 3rd consecutive order from ASHGHAL for the Water Business, following the successful completion of Doha South & Al Shamal Sewage Treatment works.

Transportation Infrastructure Business:

The Business has won an order worth Rs 481 crore.

The Railways business unit of the transportation infrastructure business vertical has won a Design and Build order from Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Ltd. (DFCCIL), which is a special purpose vehicle of the Indian Railways, mandated to build dedicated freight corridors.

The scope involves 2×25 KV Overhead Electrification, Signaling & Telecommunication and Associated works in Mughalsarai to New Sonnagar and Chirailapathu section (70.3 RKM / 147.6 TKM) of the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor.

The business is already executing the systems works contract for the New Karwandiya – New Durgauti Section (66 RKM/133 TKM) and Electrification works for the adjacent Mughalsarai – Bhaupur Section (CP 204; 417RKM/881 TKM). The business shall be executing the electrification of a large 550 km long continuous section of Eastern Dedicated freight corridor from Kanpur to New Sonnagar.

Smart World Communication Business:

The business has secured an order worth Rs 138 crore.

The business has received order from the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited for design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of telecommunication systems for the extension of the Bangalore Metro Phase-1. The scope includes Public Address Systems, Passenger Information Displays, Master Clocks, Centralized Data Recording, Tetra Radio Communication, Fibre Optic Transmission Network, CCTV surveillance and Telecom – Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems. The business is executing similar works for Lucknow Metro, Nagpur Metro and Metro-Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad.
